Mela 7.17: Frequency Offset and Pitch Reader

Mela 7.17 introduces Frequency Offset, a Pitch Processor that adds a fixed frequency offset to the Pitch signal. Use it in place of Relative Pitch when you want two detuned oscillators to beat at the same rate across the keyboard, with the detuning in cents varying between notes. Range selects the maximum offset, from 1 Hz to 10 kHz, and Offset sets a positive or negative amount within that range.

The new Pitch Reader module displays the Pitch signal as a MIDI note with a cents offset and as a frequency in hertz. In Poly mode, its readouts follow the last triggered Voice. Both modules are part of Collection 5.

The User Guide has also been reorganised, with clearer chapters, more information on working with patches, and a new chapter on the experimental Patch Skill.

In this video, I showcase 2 new modules: Pitch Reader and Frequency Offset. Pitch Reader displays Pitch signal information, including the exact frequency, MIDI note name, and detune amount. Frequency Offset can be used instead of Relative Pitch when you want 2 detuned oscillators to beat at the same rate across the keyboard.
