Easy MIDI Free - OS X App

As of January 30, 2016 this Easy MIDI Free is no longer updated and has been removed from the Mac App Store. The initial goal of this app was to let users try out a small set of features of Easy MIDI in order to encourage them to buy the fully featured version. While the free version remained popular it hadn’t been effective in converting the free users into paid users. Because of this I decided to remove it from my app collection and concentrate my efforts elsewhere. This page is no longer updated and is left here for archival purposes.

Easy MIDI Free turns your Mac keyboard into a powerful MIDI keyboard controller. It sends MIDI notes messages to any soft synth or DAW such as GarageBand, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools and Digital Performer.

This is very useful when you want to jot down some musical ideas quickly and easily whilst travelling, sitting in a coffee shop or even on your couch at home.

You can even control CoreMIDI iOS apps or hardware synth via MIDI interface.

  • Send MIDI notes to any DAW or MIDI driver
  • Notes can be triggered using alphanumeric keys
  • Easily change keyboard octave with up/down arrow keys
  • Use left/right arrow keys to change starting note
  • Visual feedback eliminates the need to look down on your Mac keyboard
  • Sustain on/off can be triggered with a space bar
  • Vertical scroll changes note velocity
  • Mini View
